Costumes for the first US productions of EGYPTA were designed by Dr. Laurel Victoria Gray and constructed by her with great assistance from the members of Silk Road Dance Company. Most of the headdresses were hand-made by Dr. Gray.
The Anubis mask was made in Germany for the production by Margot Venner.
Additional costumes for the 2003 Kennedy Center production were designed by Elizabeth Barrett Groth, then a student in the Department of Theatre and Dance and George Washington University. She now works as a professional costume designer in New York City. Some of her beautiful sketches are below.
